Christian Youth in Action
Christian Youth in Action is a fantastic way for teenagers and young adults to share their faith. Teenagers and young adults receive 7 day of training to teach children in the summer. They learn how to teach Bible lessons, mission stories, counsel a child for salvation, and how to present the wordless book. After training, the Teenagers and young adults teach children at Vacation Bible Schools and 5 Day Clubs. They also present the wordless book in facepainting at the Chemung County Fair.
Cabin Fever Fun Day
Cabin Fever Fun Day is a one day event that includes an inflatable, puppets, face painting, games, and a Gospel message. This event is well attended with around 75 - 100 children and parents.
Christmas Time Ministries
In December, CEF of SSC participates in a CEF national ministry called Christmas Across America. We hold Christmas Clubs throughout Steuben, Schuyler, and Chemung Counties. The clubs include a Bible lesson about the birth of Jesus, Christmas songs, special Christmas games, and snacks. Most children today do not know the true meaning of Christmas and the Christmas clubs are a great way to teach children about the birth of the Lord Jesus. CEF of SSC also participates in the Hope of Christmas in Corning and The Hope of Christmas in Elmira. At these events we pass out wordless book tracts and candy canes that are the color of the wordless book. At the Hope of Christmas, we also pass out free hats and gloves for children.
